Actually I got two of them. You know, to go with the other two that are hanging around somewhere. One of them still has a €40 price sticker on it. The waste is killing me.

I asked my niece to get me the Stu Ungar book (there was a 2nd hand copy in her local bookshop).

So she gave me the book, and then started explaining to me and the whole family the difference between Texas HoldEm and DrawPoker, about 'share-cards in the middle' etc.

Later that night the whole family watched Maverick and she explained that 'poker isn't really played like that anymore'.

Then at the end of that film she pointed out that the 9s as well as the As would have been good enough for the hero.

    She is TEN.

I got two christmas dinners , as I have an 'eat all' reputation to protect....(dusty bin I'm called)..
I got enough after shaves to start my own 'pee and spray sink' in some Dublin Emporiums toilets. (need ghetto blaster)
I got a Sandra Bullock calander 1998......god bless Ebay and my discerning sister, .......I'm on March at the moment..(literally)
DVDS , ACDC in concert, Led Zepplin in concert and a set of d'aggio strings...poor quality :-(
A jumper with retarded reindeers on it, if you see me wearing it please humour me , then call the police and have me escorted back to the Dundrum mental asylum.
An overwrapped item of jewelery, it took me bleedin ages to open it and found a medallion of some descript inside (with no accompanying chest wig). I may be a groovy kind of guy, but I'm not a medallion wearer. (btw I was watching the partridge family over the christmas -> )
The only thing poker related I got was a miniture deck of cards which fell from a cracker from my victorious opponent..I was awarded the spoils..:)

My christmas cracker 'heads up' record was as dismal as ever.

    Crackers pulled = 23
    Victories = ZERO

Crackers are rigged in favour of the puny armed. ( a long held suspicion of mine)

I got several poker books including 'The Poker Player's Bible'.
They are handy for other types of poker that I don't know so well though. A lotof it is crap stuff though.

    Got poker underwear.
    Got poker socks.
Got a poker board game. It's like scrabble except you make poker hands instead of words...deadly. :)
Got a poker tshirt. It has a club on the back. On the front it has 'jackpot gambling...' then a flop of two aces and a third card that has two hands praying with the caption 'keep praying'. Then the 'jackpot gambling...' line is finished with 'it's only a problem if you are losing'.
    Pretty good tshirt imo.
    No more poker pressents.

We too watched maverick, while we were playing poker. Three of my brothers play poker and so does my mother and father(for longer than I have been alive). It's been one hell of a FO Christmas. Nonstop. The amount of hand and odds discussions... :P

My parents bought me a set of chips in an aluminium carry case....

    awww, bless.

    DeV.
    Cute.

I always saw myself as a 'bad-influence' uncle who would revel in bringing my sisters' kids drinking and gambling before it was strictly legal, but a 10-year-old talking about poker has stunned me.

As it turns out her and her mates are clearly playing HoldEm at some level (from what I can make out its for sweets and marbles rather for direct money).

And i'm 95% certain she has played online at some stage as well, as she had a bizarre knowledge of online gambling, (when I discussed my new monitor she asked me could it play 4 tables)

I'm fairly sure I was doing 10p Yankees and playing DrawPoker at that age myself, so I shouldn't moralise too much.

    A strange Christmas !!!

What an odd thing to say! I'd expect to hear something along the lines of "does it makes you win more monies?".
