Small DS (and DS lite) niggle

Does anyone else's DS (lite or phat) have the mildly annoying niggle of having their DS touch screen dip a little in places when they touch it? I know it's not the actual touch screen that's dipping, but instead the protective screen on top of the touch screen and it seems to be caused by there being a slight gap between the two when there should be none.

I remember seeing this with a few early batch DS systems when it launched way back when, and my brand spanking new Lite seems to have the same problem.

It's really not that big a deal and you get used to it after a while, but it was just very noticeable compared to my previous DS which had a largely spot-on set up...

It's not an issue I'd look to get the machine replaced for (and besides, this one is from the US!) but I wonder if there's any easy fix to it?

If not, no big deal, it doesn't seem to effect my gameplay or control at all (if anything I'd say the lite's screen is more responsive than my last one) but it would be nice to remove the issue if I could!

If its the same as the the DS phat it is the touch screen you are touching. A touch screen module is placed on top of a regular screen. can you push your plastic (which is actually the touch module) closer to the the display screen is it? or is the whole thing (display screen and all) dipping?

Oh right, I thought that was just a protective screen over the touch screen... it just seems like a bit of light plastic.

Anyway, I can push the plastic closer to the dislay screen - the actual screen doesn't seem to be moving at all.

So no-one knows of any fix for this?

Whatever the top layer is, it seems as though it's just not sitting right and as a result the middle isn't touching the LCD like the rest of it is around the edges. Not sure if it's worth my while opening it just to resolve this but there might be an easier solution someone knows of.

Can't say mine has that happening either. Touch sensor is pretty flush with the LCD.

Pop in open and relay the touch screen. But I think you need a tri-wing screwdriver to do it.

Witnessmenow would be better qualified to explain the process if you're not familiar.
