Trapezius pain.

    Evening all,

I'm wondering what would be the causes of a pain in the (what one feels is called) trapezius , just along the spot where the bone of the shoulder plate meets the latissimus dorsi. Such a feeling isn;t exactly pain but can be described as more a of a "tickling" sensation when lifting, pushing or pulling. It doesn;t exactly cause pain but does cause some discomfort and leads the affected person to wonder if it's something more serious. Pinching the shoulders together causes some relief.

Hypothetically lets say a person does boxing, lifts weights and carries a backpack using only the strap on the right shoulder (which surprisingly causes the greatest flare ups in the trapezius). Would an affected person need to worry or get it seen to by a doctor, seeing as it has been ongoing for a few weeks.

Hot baths, relaxation and pinching the shoulders together does not help.

    sorry mate.

We can't give medical advice on this board. What you might regard as an innocent question has the potential to land the site in hot water.

Apolgies for closing your thread, but we have to be pretty strict about this.

Your input to the forum will always be welcome, but you can't post seeking medical advice.

    All the best,

    Tallaght01
