12" Powerbook....need help

Hi, I've a 12" power book. The Cd drive is a bit dodgy. Was wodering if its possible to install a new OS via a usb/firewire external cd rom. I was in the middle of upgrading the os when the drive broke. Don't really need a cd rom just wanna use it for music. I hook up the external cd rom and insert the os disk and start up…

Hi,

I hook up the external cd rom and insert the os disk and start up the laptop while holding down c. Just wanna know if anyone has tried this before i borrow a external cd rom.

should work via firewire.

I would hold down option when booting. It'll bring up a boot menu, select the cd and away you go.
