Brady's Season under scrutiny

Here's a rather scathing evaluation of Brady's season. It seems like the reporter is trying to mitigate Brady's passing stats.
It's a little harsh on the guy if you ask me. If he becomes the first player to make 50 TD's then the guy deserves his place in history (and I'm a Colts/Manning fan)

Of course. Basically he's getting criticism for going for the record. I know that American Football is quite a bit about stats, but there's no disguising that the Pats have had one of the best team performances - and one or two individual ones - of all time.

Aaron Schatz is a clown just search for more of his narrow minded articles he talks stats all the time and lives by them. Nowadays they judge QB's on stats and its ridiculous if you took Marino apart by stats i gaurantee you manning and Brady would make him look amateur and we all know Marino was top Drawer. Anyone who listens to guys like Schatz just remember the difference between us and them is they get paid to spread their opinion :D:D

I think they're gripping, and unwilling to let go, of the fact that Manning is the best QB of his time. Which is probably true over the past few years. But you can't deprive a man his dues. Brady is the first name people hear when they hear about American Football - I'm the only one of my friends who follows it, yet a lot of my friends know who he, and he alone, is. He's the star that shines brightest. Now for years you can say it's because he's got the right players around him. But this year ... as I said, they'res no denying his quality.
Like I said, I'm a Colts fan - my missus is a Hoosier. BUT! the pats were the team that opened my eyes to Football. Particularly the Athlete of the year. And if he doesn't beat Manning's record (i've a feeling about the Giants), he's still made his case - he's still up there with the guy regarded, by some, as the best ever.

Good luck Tom (but not in the playoffs :D)

Obviously he's going to be recognised in America, but we're not in America...pople don't general get SI over here, and he's never on Womens mag's over here! A load of my friends who don't follow it wouldn't have a clue who he was, instead they'd no somebody like T.O or Vivk or L.T...even Reggie Bush people would know from ad's he's in here!

Im in work and just put it to the test and ask around does anybody know Tom Brady and out of the 6 i asked only 2 didnt so I dont know its like anything else to say he is least recognisable is a generalisation. Your statement was not the most recognised in the NFL.

Now if you had of said he is not the most recognised in NFL to non football fans or non americans and basically non sport liking people maybe then you would have gotton agreement.

A colleague of mine in work knows Tom Brady purely for the fact he's considered one of the most handsome men on earth. Another knows him from Family Guy. My brother knows him from Family Guy.

I'd bet you €50 none of them know LT, TO or Reggie Bush.

Its the same with every top sportsman somewhere. Manning was crucified for years too. Its just Brady's turn this year. Brady gets more plaudits thatn criticism though. As tallaghtoutlaws said, one journo is just one opinion.

Lads, American Football is still a minority sport over here and to the genereal public more people know Brett Favre for being in "There's Something About Mary" than for being the TD throwing record holder. Its the same in the US where Mr Posh Spice is probably the best known footballer

lmao, the only person from the list, TO,LT,and Reggie, that people over here who know nothing about football is T.O. honestly, but the name tom brady is synonimous with american football and has been for quite some time, possibly peyton manning too! anybody who watches family guy or the simpsons over here will know who tom brady is ffs
