Changing HDD icon

    Hiya can some help me change the icon? The guides online confuzzle me. Thanks.

    Single click the drive icon on the desktop. Press Apple & i or from the File menu on Finder select Get Info or right-click on the drive icon and go to Get Info.

    In the resulting panel at the top you can see the existing drive icon drop your new icon on top of this. Or with the new icon copied select the old icon go to Edit and then paste or press Apple & V

    The Apple Button is on the left and right of the Space bar. You can also use apps like CandyBar to change your device icons and customise your Mac.

    That won't work for me though. I can change other file's and folder's icons no bother but I can't edit the HD one.

    I wouldn't mind that much but it's the ugliest! :o

    You might need to click the padlock at the bottom right of the info window and authorize yourself before being allowed to change the icon. Certain folders in the system require a similar procedure.
