Just leaving the yard tonight and in keeping with my current plan I had only a 1dmk3 and a 50mm f1.4 with me today. Couldn't resist this shot and put the camera on the fence for support.

Beautiful shot! Lovely mood in this shot. Isn't the 50mm 1.4 a superb lens!

Thanks everybody, I found going around with the 50mm is so refreshing than one of the heavy zooms that I usually have on. Its seems to be very good for the head too :) Happy Christmas everybody :)

nice moody seasonal shot -- i'm with you just using primes -- think it makes you more creative as well as being more portable

    Stunning Shot Keith!!

Santa brought me the 50mm f1.4 so i'm looking forward to put it to use, from your photo i reckon i'm going to be impressed with it!!

Superb lens although similar to most primes that when shot wide open they are pretty soft but when you stop it down to f1.8 its excellent. Great lens for any type of camera body.

Nice shot Keith, would almost try a bit more contrast in the sky, but very nice.

The 50 1.4 is a gem alright, but I find it a bit slow focusing...

Yeah in comparision with the 85mm f1.8 its soooo slow to focus. Probably could add some contrast alright, maybe later :)
