Could I be pregnant??

God i'm out of my mind with worry here..

Now I'm always very sex-safe and conscientus, but I'm in a bit of a dilemma here..

This morning I was fooling around with this guy, I let him finger me then I started on him, he tried a few times to finger me again whilst I was masturbating him and i wouldn't let him as he had been touching himself also and I didn't want to take the risk of him having pre-cum on his fingers.

Afterwards he asked why I hadn't let him near me again whilst I was masturbating him and I told him that it was because of my fear of him having pre-cum on his hand.

One of our friends just found out she's pregnant so we're both very aware and conscious of just how easy it is to get pregnant.

He then asked me if I was on the pill and I said no, queue worried look on his face. I proceeded to ask him if he had been playing with himself before his attentions towards me and said no.

A few minutes later then said he thought I should get the morning after pill to be on the safe side.

Again i asked him if he had been touching himself beforehand and if there was any chance of there being pre-cum on his fingers. He replied no. Then I'm not sure. Maybe. Then definitely not.

I went through the entire scenario of events with him to jog his memory multiple times and we left it that he had definitely not been touching himself beforehand, ergo, no chance of there being any precum on his hand at all, so phew, panic over.

Now however I see he's left me a message saying that we need to talk asap.

I guess he's not so sure about his recollection of events now again..

I'm pretty pissed off now as it's Christmas Eve and there will be no doctor to be found if I do need a morning after pill.

I'm sick with worry now and haven't slept yet replaying everything in my mind.

Just what is the likelyhood of getting pregnant from possibly precum traces on a finger?

I've been scouring the net all night and there's conflicting reports/tests conducted which either say that precum contains no sperm whatsoever, to it being jam packed full of the stuff!

Plus I think I'm in my most fertile part of my menstrual cycle now too.

I'm so sick with worry, I won't be able to enjoy today or christmas day at all now with this hanging in my mind.

If I can't get hold of the morning after pill til after Xmas (which will be more than the 72 hours the morning pill allows you) are there any other post-sex contraceptive out there?

It wouldn't be the easiest way to get pregnant but there's an outside chance you could. As they say, it only takes 1 sperm. Stop googling things ul freak yourself out even more. Pre-cum can contain sperm, so techincally being fingered by a guy who has precum on his fingers could get you pregnant. Take Thaed's advice and ring your GP right now, if ur doc isn't open, try another one nearby, or the wellwoman clinic or something. It's not worth ruining ur holiday being out of your mind with worry.

Stop worrying and enjoy xmas. You are NOT preggo. If he had pre-cum on his finger it was almost deffo dry. Once sperm is DRY it is dead and cannot travel to fertilize an egg. Sperm can live for 3-5 days if it is in a warm, moist environment such as the cervix of a woman. Sperm cannot come back to life once it has dried, even if it is remoistened. He would have to have a big dripping mass of the stuff on his finger and then slide it into you vagina. Did this happen?

Does anyone know how long sperm can survive once ejaculated? Im sure they need heat to survive and doubt they can live for more than... hang on...

However minimal yes there is a chance, especially if you are at your most fertile. Go to A & E and they will issue you with same. Not worth ruining your Christmas over and taking it will put your mind at ease.

Men are often sent home with a jar to give a sample and then drive into hospitals and fertility clinics so sperm can live for long enough.

I had the *exact* same fear my first time fooling around with my first boyfriend. Went to the local family planning clinic, and had to really convince the woman/nurse/whatever to give me the morning-after pill. She said if I really, really wanted it she wouldn't refuse me, but that really, I was in no danger.

I agree with better safe than sorry, but chances are absolutely miniscule.

I would guesstimate that there is a greater chance of you getting pregnant being on the pill and having regular intercourse then there is from what you are describing.

Oh the ironing in your first sentence. Myself and my partner went through fertility treatment. For my sample I could do it at home and bring in to the clinic within 8 (or maybe 12 - one or the other) hours. That's pretty leisurely in my book.

Maybe you should read a book or two before going all authoritative yourself.

I agree with you about the lack of knowledge about sex and for many people conceiving IS difficult, but there are also many people who get pregnant very very easily. Some people take very silly risks if pregnancy is not something they want/could easily cope with.

Yes sadly from reading this thread, it is quite clear that people don't know a whole lot about pregnancy and how to get pregnant. The other conclusion is that they are somewhat devil may care.

New research tends to support pre-ejaculate not containing sperms capable of fertilising an egg, even if it did the chances in this scenario of pregnancy occurring are extremely remote.
From personal experience (unfortunately) I can back up Thaed's claim that men can ejaculate in a container and take into a clinic, it's not best practice, but it regularly happens in Ireland. It's recommended that the sperm be kept warm and that it arrive within asap, but within an hour anyway.
Take the M.A.P if you can get it OP, but seriously, I doubt if you've anything to worry about.

She said the A&E of your nearest MATERNITY HOSPITAL. I know the hospitals in this country could be better in some instances, but I don't think it's that bad that they've got the drunks and scumbags being treated in the maternity hospitals.

OP, there is an outside chance that you may be pregnant, although you'd have to be very unlucky, techincally it is possible. Get the M.A.P. and relax. Also, you didn't mention if you're seeing this guy or if this was just a random fling, if it was random you might want to consider getting an STI test if you erm, exchanged bodily fluids, regardless of how small the amount.

8 or 12 hours :eek: are you completely sure this was the case? Having infertility issues and all the probing and examinations/operations that come with it, we were told it was best for my partner to have his sample in ASAP, if at all possible within 15 - 20 minutes...and I'm pretty sure we were also told that anything over the hour mark was pretty useless to them in terms of testing.

Agreed, the temperature of le ball sack is absolutely critical to a sperms life as they can only within stand small temperature fluctuations. Tbh 8 to 12 hours is ridiculous, laughable at most, more like 60-90 mins max.
