heya everyone! well i was so excited to get my hands on a wii, an extra remote and nunchuk that i wrapped them immediately to hide em from the bf....except that i forgot to check whether the remote and nunchuk thingy's needed batteries!!!! google is usually my friend when it comes to these things, but one result says i need 3 AAA batteries for the wiimote and the other says i need 2 AA batteries. anyway i said i'd post on here first because i don't want to unwrap the pressies to check the box hehe. im such a dumbass :D otherwise i will just get a packet of each type of battery but just want to know if i will have enough etc. thanks!

The wiimote with the wii comes with batteries, but you'll probably need them for the separate wiimote. Always good to have spares.

Can the wii use NiMH rechargables? If so get a set of Uniross Hybrios or similar. They should have them in Maplin. Basiclly they have huge capacities compared to alkalines and the hybrid ones don't discharge as quickly as regular NiMH batteries when not in use. (they come fully charged and last up to a year when not in use).

I use them in my SLR and flashgun and they're brilliant for the high drain flash. They only cost about €15 for 4 including a charger.

    EDIT: here you go!

Should work no problem, I'd just make sure you have high rated ones, like 2500 s.

I've seen a lot of chargers selling with 1300 batteries with them and was so off putting.

I've found lithium batteries last much, much longer

It's ridiculous that they don't come with a proper battery and chargers themselves, especially for the price they sell them at (recently got back into the Wii after abandoning it for half a year, so perhaps they do have these now). The Wii eats AA batteries and it's a pain in the arse to find/buy new ones.

Just get rechargeable ones. They're so useful.
