has under the front picture :
Maud Ní Riordain (right) is welcomed home yesterday by her sister Zoe at Dublin airport after spending six months in New York. She was one of some 230,000 passengers expected to have passed through the airport in the four days to Christmas.

    I would have put :
Maud Ní Riordain (one of these new Irish age tossers) is welcomed home by her
sister Zoe (another tosser with a name like that ) at Dublin Airport after spending 6 months spending Daddys money in New York and generally being a spoilt bitch .

Seriously what is it with people with Irish names ??

Fiachara ? Donnacha ? sorracha ?? these tossers are always spoiled south side nobs
thats what i hate about the Irish Times .. it just reports on those tossers

    / END RANT

Nice to know you can judge so much from their name.

Worst thread in a long time, I wonder what the OP is going to call his/her offspring.

Berengar = French 11th century Christian theologian

Actually, I knew the OP was familiar... This jackass made a few trolling comments on films before, never responds to anyone either, just makes a ridiculous statement and moves on.

    My names Cian.

    Old Irish name.
I guess that makes me a pretentious tosser.
I was born in the South side after all.

    Always southsoide nobs you say?
Yes, our great gaeilgoir Peig Sayers was an awful tosser. Spittin all that Oirish did her no good whatsoever. Contrary to popular belief, she did not, in fact, live a life riddled with poverty and people falling off cliffs in the Blaskets but was our first great southsoider. Her book Peig was the Ross O'Carrol Kelly of the day.

The girl's name Maud \maud\ is pronounced mawd. It is of French origin. Variant of Matilda.

    and....

    Zoe
    ... as a girl's name
    Origin: Greek
    Meaning: Life Giving

OP - if you could calm down for a second you'd realise one of the names you hate so much is of French origin and the other is Greek

    Deep breaths OP!
