    Hi All,

This is an hypothetical question so far, but it's my current dream so...

I'm French-Australian and will arrive in Ireland soon and hopefuly find an IT work in a rural or small town environment (personal goal and need).

Now there is this awesome Japanese girl I would like to convince to come live with me, marry me, STAY with me.

Unfortunately there are visas issue and the like....
(And also the fact that this is hypotethical so far, but I think I have a reasonable chance to succeed the heart & love part, here I just share my wondering about the legal part)

How would you go about solving them?

    1. She might be able to have a student visas but I think I read somewhere they were quite long to get?

    2. what if I marry her? it doesn't seem to help very much, on top of that I'm not Irish but French (& Australian as well :D) does it helps (or not)?

    3. could she get a working holliday visas?

    4. how do you go about PR?

    5. any other tip?

Do you have French / EU citizenship?

Depending on your concept of 'small town', you won't find many IT companies there.

I don't understand what you mean.

Moved from Personal Issues to Work & Jobs, hopefully the people here can help you better.

Yes I have French (hence EU) citizenship.

For the job I choosed Ireland because it seems to me to be the best place for IT job in the country side, speaking of which I already have some lead in Galway or Letterkeny, I think that should do! ;) (thanks anyway for your concern :D)

By PR I mean 'Permanent Residency' (they have that in Australia) I don't mean for me (which is not a problem) but for Ushio (my Japanese dream girl).

    Hi,

Well since I am an EU citizen married to a japanese lady I can advise you from experience. As an EU citizen, married to a Japanese citizen your Japanese partner can have a EU treaty rights visa, so long as the EU citizen has a Job and proof of a residence in ireland, the process takes about 9mths of waiting to get the final eu treaty rights visa, but in the meantime the Japanese national will get a "No 4 immigration stamp" in their passport which allows her to work and stay while waiting for the EU treaty rights visa
