    First one is excellent and from my point of view its the contrast between the black and white and the texture of the feathers. Did you set out to do this or was it by accident?

    Thanks for the comments guys. I guess I didnt set out to take abstract picutres of the swans at the start but when i got to the park they were preening themselves...which lead to some interesting contorted body/neck shapes so I decided to focus on that more instead of getting the 'classic' swan pictures one normally takes. There was very little post-cropping on pic 1...I knew what I wanted from it when i took it, whereas the wing picture really came out of another shot where I was trying to do something else.
