Freeview box through Sky digibox - problems

I have researched to the best of my ability but I still can't quite get the answer I need so sorry if this sounds a bit familiar.

I'm a subscriber to sky and decided to pick up a generic digibox from b&q and route the skydish signal through the RF2 port on the back to the LNB in on the digibox to recieve FTA channels. This doesn't work. I have no idea why and it's driving me mad. It works the other way round (digibox LNB out to skybox LNB in) but not the other way.

Can anyone shed any light on this? The digibox can pick up any satalite.

RF2 port on SKY box just routes the output from the currently selected channel. i.e. if you have selected SKY1 (106) on the box, then that's what appears on RF2. It is on UHF channel 21-69 (whatever you have set up in your preferences). You can't then expect your FTA receiver to tune this (or anything else in the UHF band) on the LNB input.

You need a dual or quad lnb ( just replace the existing one),

Then run a cable from this to your new digibox.
making sure you reconnect the existing one ;)

Thanks for the suggestions. I want to get this down fro christmas so I guess I'll have to do some creative wiring with the digibox and it's LNB out.

The LNB out is for a slave Analog Box. It's not possible to use both boxes on any channel. The non-Sky box with LNB loop through needs to be in standby for the Sky box to operate properly.

The RF1 & RF2 are not LNB signals at all but Loop out of TV Aerial in with internal Modulator added as a lower quality alternative to SCART output to TV.

I think the Christmas message is - stop trying to be inventive with the LNB out and RF out sockets and get a dual or quad LNB and wire it to both receivers ;)
