    Current exemptions include:
    1. Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (ICAI) 2.2 Honours graduates - CAP1 Examination: Full exemption.

    2. Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA): Exemption from F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, F9 at fundamental level.

    3. Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) - Certificate Stage: Full exemption, Managerial Stage: P1, P2, P7, P8.

Note: All exemptions awarded are subject to annual review and revision by the various professional bodies and are based on students achieving clear passes in completion of specific modules.

This course is also suitable for those who ultimately wish to pursue a career in teaching as it is recognised by the Registration Council for Secondary Teaching (see page 176 for further details).

Don't do it myself, just had a look on qualifax.

I don't think there is any degree that gives you more exemptions, so I don't know where you are getting that.

It's pretty handy, i'm in 3rd year. The job prospects are excellent too, as long as you get (preferably a 2.1 or above) maybe a 2.2. Most people in my class would have their jobs sorted for next October already. 22-23k starting off.

You're exempt from prof 2's. So basically you have to do two sets of exams when you finish the degree, prof 3 and finals. Or if you have a masters (do another year after the degree), only finals to do. It is the best accountancy degree in Ireland.

The course is brilliant. tough especially in final year. You need to preform well in each year though if you want to go down the auditing route with the big 4 as the milk round is at the start of third year so second year results are KEY, and if you want an internship at the end of second year results at the end of 1st year are important.

It is so well respected as it is so focused. I finished it in 2006 with 2.2 degree and work in industry ( I had no interest of going down the auditing route).
At the minute I am sitting my CPA exams and have 6 out of 16 left to sit. After that I am going to sit Institute Tax exams and since I did the tax modules in final year of AF and found it interesting

    i finished in 2006 also ( in charba's class:D)

remember you will only get the full exemptions if you take the necessary modules and dont take the specialised module sets
