    Hi all,
I've skied a few times and this year I'm trying out snowboarding.
Just wondering if any of the snowboarders use wrist guards or knee guards? What brand do you use?
    Cheers!

I'd say impact shorts are essential too. Can make the difference between able to walk/sit properly or not :)

Also keep your bum warm when sitting on the snow.

Dont use them myself, but Dainese are good make.

As mentioned Impact Shorts are a must, I use the Dainese ones

    Thanks lads, that's much appreciated.

I'm going to make myself an ass-pad from a few camping ground mats I have, a mate of mine has shown me how to do it - layers of padding and good, wide coverage!

A little off-topic but are there any exercises in particular that you'd do to prepare for a week on the slopes?

Knee pads and hip pads were essential for me. Particularily hip pads.

Exercise-wise doing some sit ups for a few months before hand always is good as having to pick yourself up everytime you fall can be a killer on your stomach muscles if you are starting.... :D

went to that ski-injury website.. bought the 'flexmeter' guards.. excellent, would highly recommend them. Did have to get new gloves though, they are quite bulky and take a few days to get used to as they completely immoblise your wrist.
