I'm trying to re-install windows XP. I have SP2 up but everytime I try to re-install, it won't let me because the version of XP on the cd is SP1. How do I delete SP2 so I can re-install? Is it just remove it from the control panel? I'm gonna reinstall SP2 once its done.

    Thanks

Edit: Sorry, but have made ANY effort to research this yourself ? It's the first link on google if you type in
    "XP uninstall SP2"

If you can't uninstall it then run a repair install, everything will be the same but you will be back to SP1... assuming your isntall disk is using sp1 that is.

Sp3 is either out now, or due soon... i know its available but not sure if its official yet...

ah the PC crashed when I was re-installing and the result is that I have SP1 Installed but I can't start the PC! I can only log in on safe mode. If I try to log in on safe mode with networking, it tells me I can't log in until I acticate Windows. To do that I need to log into Windows normally but I can't because it just restarts!

I am going to download SP2 and try to install it in safe mode off a networked drive. possible?

The RC is out. Final release due Q1 2008, probably January.

I don't think you can install SP2 in safe mode
You can activate windows over the phone to get you into normal mode.
