I have been cycling for years as a mode of transport but i want to take it up as a sport and i am not sure what kind of bike i should get?
I wound like a road racer bike as a have an alluminum frame crossterain bike (front shocks only) I use for getting around and the odd spot of mountain biking.
So my question is what should i be looking for in a racer?
    Any help would be great,
    Cheers!

Give us a number to play with. You can spend anything from 200 to 2000 if you want. More, if it takes your fancy. Figure out for yourself what you want to get out of the bike. Will you be racing, will you be doing long distance endurance events? The recommended good entry level bikes start at about 700 or 800.
