Dexters First Kill *possible spolier

I'm slightly confused...

From watchin the first series I thought Dexters first kill was the nurse who was overdossing his father with medication..

However, the other night, I watched the episode where Harry caught Dexter in the garage butchering some pimp.

Just wondering, does anyone know who his definite first kill was?

I think the one in the garage was Dexters first solo effort (he did everything without Harry's help or encouragement). Thats why it was such a surprise to Harry.

Yeah I think so too. I think he killed the pimp as kind of a prize for Harry, and when Harry realised that this is what his years of training have created.

It was also essentially Harry's own fault that Dex had killed the pimp since he was so upset that the charges were dropped and I think both of these things were a bit too much for Harry to take.

The nurse was way before the pimp, as Dexter said Harry lived for a year after he killed the nurse, but he killed himself 3 days after Dexter killed the pimp. the nurse was his first kill I think.

He Killed the pimp exactly 362 days after he killed the nurse, in the hospital dex states he got an extra YEAR with his dad due to killing the nurse
