    Hey,

Just just after booking two flights and my mate spells his name Graeme but i put Graham down on the ticket.

Its with Aer Lingus, will there be any problems do you think ?

OT - €18 for one bag return - rip off!

Shouldn't be, but ring them to confirm just in case

As far as I know most airlines allow 3 letters to be wrong on a ticket but definately call Aer Lingus to confirm.

I worked in an independet travel agent for a couple of years and name changes were allways a source of pain for everyone.

If the name on the passport does not match the name on the ticket 100%, the airline has the right to refuse boarding. i.e. How do I know that you didn't steal Graham's ticket? Graeme and Graham could be two completely different people. In post 911 times Airlines can be ruthless when it comes to discrepencies like this.

I'd call Aerlingus ASAP and get this sorted.

Don't be surprised if you get charged, but Aer Lingus are usually quite good with these things.

I showed up for a transatlantic to the US with my son and no tickets for either of us, and no confirmation number and all they wanted was ID. You will have no problem. Fantastic airline. Love them.

Meant to come back with the outcome - I rang them up and told the girl working there the situation, she changed the name to the right spelling and said she wouldn't charge me for it (so possibly they sometimes do) and she gave me a new booking reference number for my mate.

You were lucky, as in fairness it was indeed a name change

    Fair play to her!
