My exams finish tonight (thank fúck) and i intend to play lot of poker over the xmas break.

there's a reload bonus on party for 20% up to 200. that means i have to put in 1k to qualify for the full bonus right? would there be a fee is i deposited from a visa card

also, how many hands will this mean i need to play...i play 50NL which means i get 3 party points per raked hand but how do i know how many points i need to clear the bonus? edit: (release condition is 12 times the bonus amount on ANY site across PARTY brand)

    Cheers

    Paul

There is no fee for using a credit card.

The maximum bonus is in US dollars, so you'll need to deposit $1000 to obtain the maximum 20% of $200, which is about €670 or whatever the exchange rate is.

No charge for depositing, though there is one for withdrawing, along with their weird exchange rate shenanigans

afaik 1 party point = 20 raked hands!

After you deposit check "pending bonus's" in my account section of poker client, This will show you exactly the amount of PP you need to clear bonus.

Yeah I made a post about this before, I can confoim though that you can avoid the exchange rate shenanigans if you change your currency to your banking currency, in most cases that's euros. You should definitely do this if you play on Party.

Have changed the currency, the exchange rate pop-ups at the table are pretty annoying (maybe this only shows up on the "play anywhere" version?

Not too sure what you mean by "play anywhere". I dont find the exchange rate pop-up thing annoying at all, which is unusual for me , coz I'm a finnicky fooker like that. :p

yeah i remember your thread on it before, i seem to lose money when i wihtdraw to neteller then to my bank a/c...

first how do i change my party account into sterling - thats the currency of the bank a/c ill be depositing into.

also, my neteller account is in euros (as i previously used to deposit into my Irish bank a/c) so should i just avoid using neteller to cash out and simply go directly to my bank account (i.e. the wire transfer?) so theres only one currency conversion?

cheers for the help so far lads!

taken from party site, for every 20 raked hands:

    No-limit and pot-limit games
    Blinds PartyPoints
    $.02/$.04 1.25
    $.05/$.10 1.25
    $.10/$.25 2
    $.25/$.50 3
    $.50/$1.00 5
    $1.00/$2.00 8
    $2.00/$4.00 12
    $3.00/$6.00 14
    $5.00/$10.00 16
    $10.00/$20.00 18
    $15.00/$30.00 18
    $25.00/$50.00 30

Most of my bank accounts are also in Sterling so I mighrt be able to help you a bit.

Personally I never use neteller to withdraw to my bank account. I only ever use it for moving money between sites and do so in dollars, i.e. my neteller account is in dollars, so I don't get charged anything.

the best thing to do if it's possible for you, would be to deposit into a site with neteller and then if you have a UK debit card and the poker site facilitates it, withdraw to the debit card, that way you avoid charges. I would advise not taking the p1ss though and play some poker on the site, that way everyone is happy.

To change your account to Pounds, select 'My Account' from the lobby, then when it takes you to the account web page, click on your Profile. That will bring up a range of options that you can edit, the last one is your account currency.

    Cheers for that!

my neteller account is going to become kind of redundant as i tend only to play on party (dont like other software), you reckon it would be worth me closing the neteller a/c and trying to open another one at a later date so the currency is in dollars rather than euro (which is no help to me!)

Party bonuses clear much faster than Stars bonuses in my experience - but could someone who knows more about blackjack tell me should you come out ahead on average if you were to take your $500 deposit and play $5 a hand basic strategy blackjack until you cleared the bonus and released the $100? I remember being given a 'free' $100 from Party blackjack before and it took less than an hour to complete the numbers of hands I needed to clear it, by that stage the $100 was worth $77.50, alright return from a free offer!

If possible yes, not sure how easy this is done in practice though.

If I'm not mistaken PartyPoker's bonii now clear at an atrociously slow rate. You said that you need to earn 12 times the bonus amount in partypoints? So that's 2400 points at 50nl for which you earn 3 points per 20 hands. So that's (2400/3)*20 hands = 16,000 hands.
Gone are the days when you could clear a $100 bonus after 500 raked hands.
And don't forget, that's 16000 raked hands. In reality you'll be playing more. Not worth it if you are looking for the best value out there, but if you are planning to play there anyway, it's better than nothing.
