I was looking for some Morris & Dorris tapes on eBay that I used to listen to in the 80s, but I could find almost no reference to Morris & Dorris on the internet. Surely there's an archive somewhere?

I even googled for some of their lyrics like "Here we go round the mountain, singing our very own song" but came up with almost nothing. I remember a few of the characters (Digby on rollerskates, a train, "Stephen"), and a few of the episodes and a few of the songs, but because I can't find anything on the internet about them, I wonder if I'm remembering incorrectly.

    I remember this!
I loved listening to these tapes.
I too have googled, and have been unable to find anything :(

If I remember correctly, I'm sure the fortnihgtly series was called I'm a Little Storyteller.

    :)

Morris and Doris are mentioned in the Storyteller Wiki

I loved the Morris & Doris stories! "Hello Morris!!" "Hello Dorris!!"

I remember my Great Aunt buying me the books/tapes every fortnight. We used to sing along and read the stories, great memories! Think they were called Storyteller.

Thanks for posting Hedgepig - really made me smile! :)

I just Googled 'here we go round the mountain' and this website came up! So I had to register just to comment!

My bro and I used to have the tape and go mad singing that song!

'and on a good day we shout hooray with a ratatat tat and a bing bang bong'!!!

Morris and Doris were the narrators of Little Storytellers, a fortnightly publication by Marshall Cavendish. They are now really rare but can be bought, I found them here. However if you're feeling a little nostalgic then click here and enjoy.

here we go round the mountain
    singing our very own song,
when we're on our way we shout hooray
with a rat-a-tat tat and a bing bang bong.

Magic is what we like to do
and when it goes wrong we cry 'boo hoo'
but on a good day we shout hooray
with a rar-a-tat tat and a bing bang bong.
