Uh-oh, suitcase problem

Hi all. I'm moving back from Scotland to Ireland tomorrow and, woe is me, my suitcase has split. Just along the zip at the bottom, about two inches long. I duct taped it but I don't think that's gonna hold (the suitcase weighs 30kg - woe is me again, gonna have to pay excess baggage charges). Anyway, I was told I can get my suitcase wrapped in clingfilm or something. Where would I ask for this to be done? At the check in desk or before? Or can it even be done? Thanks!

It'll be done by a private company (not the airline) so just inside the door of the departure lounge (where all the check-in desks are), you should find a machine with someone waiting to operate it!

Ok thanks! Will look for that tomorrow. I re-did the duct tape job and I'm a lot more confident in it now but anything extra to put my mind at ease would be great!

Most airports have a bag-wrap service, look for the store that sells suitcases and ask them, they're usually the ones in the know.
