Wanted to get in touch and now they only give phonenumbers and addresses for people who used to have email addresses on the site.

    http://www.nra.ie/AboutUs/ContactInformation/#d.en.2327

Theres a walloping great stretch of the N25 in Cork near the Kinsale road interchange where none of the lights (at all) are working. Its a black spot at the moment as basicially 4 lanes merge into 2. Try doing that without lights. Also, along the rest of the road, about 1/3 of the lights arent working.

A quick email was going to be written. Anyone got those email addresses saved?

A friend works at NRA and it is first initial + surname e.g. Paul Smith would be psmith @ nra.ie.
They will probably direct you to Cork County Council. It's worth phoning them.

Kinsale Road interchange is near the city/county border, so a word to both might be needed.

    Reporting a Faulty Light
You can report a faulty light by telephoning, writing to or emailing Cork County Council's Public Lighting section.

    The information we require is:
The town or village and street name.
The location of the light (for example, outside house number 5).
    The number on the pole.
    Your name and contact number.

    Each pole is numbered

When you contact us, ask to speak to the Public Lighting Engineer. The contact details are as follows:

    North Cork
    Public Lighting Engineer,
    Cork County Energy Agency,
    Spa House,
    Mallow,
    County Cork.
    Tel: 022 43610
    Email: bill.griffin@corkcoco.ie

    West Cork
Report fault to your nearest Council Engineer's Office
Do street lights exist in the south cork area?

The removal of e-mail addresses shows just how 'interested' the NRA are in the users of their roads

Probably they're receiving too many emails. Of course, the problem is that there's a lot of issues to raise with them. That said, it is pretty inefficient to deal with these by email. Being able to contact the NRA isn't a substitute for having proper structures in place that allow people to quickly and easily raise issues about anything from projects to signage. E.g. public web interface to log issues directly into an NRA "issues" database that allows easy read/sort/prioritise/close of issues at the other side - not that such a thing is usually properly designed or implemented!

A choice email was sent to the lighting division.

Two days later the main batch of lights are working.

    Coincidence?? :)
