How to get goods from America if the shop/company will not ship outside the US

This is not a Bargain Alert as such but it is a useful service to know about.

In the course of fitting a car radio recently, I had to source a part from the US. Unfortunately the only supplier would not ship outside the US.

I came across this on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/USA-mail-forwarding-Pack-and-ship-USA-Address_W0QQitemZ150196019916QQihZ005QQcategoryZ50352QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

For those who are unfamiliar with what a re-shipper does, they provide you with a US address to which your goods are sent and then re-address/re-ship the goods to your UK/Ireland/anywhere address.

The girl who runs the above eBay service - Kelly Hill - is absolutely fantastic. Answers emails really quickly, very helpful and re-posts very fast. All for only $5. The $5 is all inclusive - no extras - and she offers USPS rates without a surcharge. My package arrived from the US in 5 days, which is great for this time of year.

I have no connection with this lady nor is she offering any incentives for me to advertise her wares . But if you need anything from the US and the Seller will not ship to you, then I would recommend her service.

I always wondered if there were people who set up that service. I just use friends over there if i ever want anything.

Nice find so thanks. Any idea how they are about rebates (that might be asking too much)

Nice idea, could be useful, it also got me thinking that maybe someone in NI should set up a similar service for electronics from amazon.co.uk, play.com etc!

I think that's pretty obvious both from my first post and the content of the eBay description ;)

And yes, there are many other services available but for infrequent buyers like myself, you will not beat $5 :)

I have just had a few things clarified with Kelly:

    - fee is all inclusive
    - no membership, maintenance, or sign up fees
    - She will process rebates
    - offers USPS shipping rates without a surcharge

I have amended my original post about the shipping rates

I mentioned her on another post. Used her recently and much cheaper.

Got free shipping from Amazon to her. Found her shipping rates very reasonable.

Quick question - some US sites won't take non-US credit cards.

Anyone got a cheaper workaround then paying her $15 dollars.

Was considering gift virtual Visa / Mastercards. Anyone got a reasonably priced link.

Saw some stuff on Kohls and Toysrus but both won't take non-us credit cards.

I tried to use this service and got fast answers from Kelly Hill in the beginning. Then A lot of stuff was ordered to her address I'm trying to reach her about a week and get no answer! I emailed her many times and called by phone. No answer. Does anyone else have problems now?

    Hi,

She has been on vacation. Am awaiting stuff also.

She did email me to tell me but I would have liked her to email and let me know in advance.

surely it would work out cheaper to buy it on ebay.co.uk or a europe site, postage from the US is expensive no? plus customs tax...and most US sites dont take non US credit cards
US goods can be significantly cheaper! Not only that, but it can also be for goods that aren't available outside the US.

As to US sites not taking non-US credit cards - what? I've never seen this! Can you point me to a site where this happens?

Oh and customs duty is applicable to goods bought in Europe where VAT hasn't been applied (play.com for example).

I'm having similar problems. I had goods delivered to her on the 19th of January. It was a nearly week later before I got a one-line confirmation from her that they had been delivered. Now another week has gone by and she hasn't replied to any of my emails trying to get her to forward them to me.

Did you manage to receive them in the end?

    HI,

I got an email to say that her sister was ill and that she is 7 hours drive away from her home.

If packages were for my customers, let her know and she would arrange something, otherwise could i hang on.

pm me your email address and I will forward her your email

This is not true. Import charges (customs duties, anti-dumping, countervailing and excise duties where applicable and VAT) are payable on goods purchased over the Internet or from mail order catalogues and imported into Ireland from outside the European Community (EC)

Just wondering if anyone else here has used this girl and if she's legit?

I'm a bit dubious about having $$$ worth of items sent to a total stranger with the promise that they'll forward them on especially when she's not replying to my emails..

Anyone have any experience good/bad with her?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 726 ✭✭✭sue97

I used her a couple of times. Initially found the service brilliant. But the last time I was not happy, it took up to a week to respond to my questions and the service was anything but professional.

Also the fact that she does not work through ebay any more means that there is no method of giving bad feedback if the service is bad.

Am going to look for an alternative similiar supplier.

Anyway taking back my recommendation - won't use her again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 726 ✭✭✭sue97

She did get back to me Clint but it took over a week each time. I found her very unprofessional recently and had found her brilliant.

She did get back eventually but not fast enough for me to be happy with the service.

pm if you want more info

I used the service listed by the OP, and I have to say it was flawless. I can't recommend her service highly enough.

I wanted to buy some supplements that you can't get outside the US. I found her service on Ebay, and availed of it. After I used the service, I found out that the site was buying the supplements from wouldn't accept an Irish credit card. I emailed Kelly and she agreed to purchase the goods for me (of course for a fee). When she recieved the items, she emailed me to say that if she were to remove the supplements from their original packaging she could repack and it would save me money on shipping (the supplements were still sealed of course). I recieved my goods (about $120 worth) a few days later.

Each and every time I emailed Kelly, I got a response within 30 min. I recieved my goods lightening quick, and in perfect conditions.

I can't recommend her service highly enough. If I require any goods shipped through the US again, I'll definitely be going back to her.

Sorry to bump this up but didn't think another thread was needed.

Im in the same situation, that I want to buy some items from America but Amazon wont ship outside of the US.

Is there any recommended companies in 2014?

    Any help would be great!

Shipito seem to be recommended fairly often.
