this seems like a friendly place, first time ever using a forum.my problem is this...i can't figure out how to use this little recording thing.sure..i've managed to record a couple of bits and peices.purely by fluke, its sounded good enough to me,but the memory card has taken it to some far away place and i can't find it.i can't get rid of the drum track in the background.i've wanted one of these things for years, just so i could record stuff before i forgot it,and now i have it i don't know how to use it.i'm pulling my hair out.i used to have a lovely head of hair.the manual looks like it should be easy to follow but the display screen rearly shows what the manual shows.so what will i do?????...if i had a gun i'd shoot it right now.but i don't have a gun and i don't want one either thank you very much, gone off the point a bit here, sorry.i'm living in the galway area at the moment and if anyone knows anyone that might be able to give me a crash course in using it for its most basic functions i would be so so greatful and obviously i have no probs payin for the time spent in edukatin me.my mother really doesn't like the way my head is lookin.thanks:o

Rtfm, keep at it. I have no sympathy for you. Ever tried to learn to program a tb-303 properly, thatll knock years off your life

Actually the oxygen level in the river might help.

If you find out how to use yours tell me, I just bought a Zoom HD16CD and I'm trying to hook it up to Cubase LE and I haven't recorded anything on it cause theres so many damn features on it I don't know what to touch first.

You'll get there guys. But I'm afraid that no forum post will solve it for you. You're just going to have to go through the manual and learn through trial and error. As someone said above; RTFM! :D

They're great little things, seriously, it's worth spending the time on the manual.

Oh, and if you don't have it, I'm sure you could find it online or get Boss to send it out to you!

Thanks, that's pretty much inspired me to take out the manual again and try. :D

Or I could just throw mine in the same river as the OP and have a race! Nah I'll just learn to use the yoke...

jonnyonebit the time spent reading the manual is worth it. It's also a lot less expensive than many hair replacement treatments.

But seriously, you're not alone. Most of these things seem to have been designed with keyboard players in mind. The thing is, keyboard players have had an easier time of it for the last 30-odd years because (a) most of them got some formal music training (b) their instruments were the first to be computerised and (c) they were already geeks anyway.

I'm not familiar with the unit you have, but have you checked the web to see if there are tutorials out there? Chances are there is a forum dedicated not only to Boss multitrackers, but even to your specific model.

I always find it much easier to understand stuff if I'm shown rather than READ THE FREAKIN' MANUAL, and I'm 25 years at it....

However if you have no option I suggest take things in steps. Have 100% confidence in the manual. Then start at page 1 and work your way through .... bit by bit.

If something isn't working refer to what I said before , 100% confidence in the Manual... therefore retrace your steps and check and double check you're doing EXACTLY as it says - if you do it WILL work, if you don't it won't.
To extend that idea- if it ain't working YOU'RE wrong , not the unit!

If you're wrong don't panic and start again.
It's frustrating and hard work, but you'll get there!

    .......................................................................... or maybe not!

In my experience most units are logical and I find that once you follow instructions EXACTLY it all falls into place...
