Strange tale, but Yore ma is actually a bastardisation of a fairly well known south american demon by the name of "Yoruma". In local traditions, when something bad happened such as a plague of boils, or the random buggering of an unattended goat, the locals would ask "who performed this atrocity?" and invariably, the reply would be that "Yoruma did it". Being a demon, he was quite easy to blame you see.

As the South American population in Ireland increased, they began to discuss their own traditions with locals here in Ireland. One day, a chap from Argentina called Jesus (prounounced with a H) was talking to a guy from Ballyfermot called Anto (with a silent T) and told him the tale of Yoruma. Sadly, Anto wasnt able to pronounce it correctly, and actually said Yorema.
When Antos mates heard him say this, they thought it was very funny, what with "Your Ma" being local Dublin Lingo for "Your mother", and decided to blame each others mothers for pretty much everything that went wrong in society. That is how "Yore Ma" entered Irish Lingo.

So next time you answer a "who did you have sex with last night?" question with "Your ma!", remember that you are admitting to having had intercourse with a demonic being of no remorse from the highest mountains of south america.
