    Hi,

Quick question,I have a standered eircom netopia broadband box and was wondering is it just a matter of setting up a connection between that and my ps3 and then i'm ready for online play or do i have to pay a subscrption fee or anything like that.

Yeah, Once you have your PS3 connected to your router you just setup the network connection on the PS3. After that you sign in with your PSN username and playing online is free after that.

you might need to switch off the routers firewall to connect to some game lobbys though (eg pes2008)

I would recommend sticking the PS3 IP address in the router DMZ if it supports it, rather than disable the firewall.
