    i noticed mymacbook slowing down lately
    checked acitivitiy monitor and it ppears as if 'google desktop agent is respnsible!'

    unbelievable!
    nyone got this installed?
    i didnt ven know it was installed.
    anyone know how it might a got onto my computer.

    Maybe you accidentally installed it through Google toolbar or something? Google desktop agent is a disastrous piece of software. It comes installed by default on Windows PCs from Dell - I've had calls from family and neighbours on three different new Dell computers about their system being unusable and each time I found Google Desktop responsible - a quick uninstall fixes everything.

    In fairness to the OP, that was not txt spk... looks like a dodgy keyboard.

    I actually seem to be having missing letters when I post on my Macbook, only started happening a month ago (7 month old computer). It's quite annoying, I don't think it's me not hitting the keys correctly (but of course it could be).

    Just thought I'd mention that!

    I concur with this tbh. For reasons that don't need to be mentioned here, but I think a little tolerance is called for.
