Ok My dad asked me to install a webcam yesterday
I asked him did he run the installation disk and he said Yes

so I plugged it in and got the 'Installing drivers' message, then when complete, nothing

it turned out he didn't install the driver after all and windows gave it a generic driver (i'm guessing here)

when I plug it in now, I get nothing, doesn't even recognise that there is a usb device plugged in, any one any ideas?

I tried to install/reinstall software, but as I said when I plug in the camera it fails to recognise there is even a usb device plugged in

it is a logitech express .. tried there website nothing useful there

    which version of windows
if XP do a system restore and try again
Vista system restores are a little more drastic, does stupid stuff like delete downloads :(

also check device manager to remove it
