Cancel Sky Subscription, What channels do you get?

    thinking about getting satellite. Really only interested in BBC, UTV/ITV and Channel 4.

    what happens if i get sky for the minimum 12 month and the cancel.

    Will i still be able to receive all these channels?.

    When you cancel, your box will continue to receive the FTA channels.

    For a list of channels, check the ICDG Wiki (link in my sig), or check the FAQ sticky thread at the top of this forum for other links.

    Channel 4 is not FTA, but FTV. So, if you obtained an FTV/Freesat From Sky card from a UK source, that would pick up C4.

    Mind you, in 12 months time, there's a fair chance Channel 4 will be properly FTA at that stage.....

    dont bother subscribing to sky.

    get a second hand digibox and dish (buyandsell, ebay, local papers) or get your local TV man to install a dish and box with out subscription for you.

    We have a fella in Ballymote who installs and configures box and dish for a total fee of €175. You get about 200 channels - mostly crap but some great stuff.

    BBC 1/2/3/4
    ITV 1/2/3/4
    Men & Morots
    Filn 4
    Loads of dodgy movie channels
    music channels etc

    I have a sky FTV card that I bought from a small ad for €50 that gives me C4, Sky three, Channel five, Five US, Five, all the news channels life. etc

    right ok i was looking at a guy who sell his installation service on ebay for around €180. think its west coast satellites. with the price i was wondering if he was ok.
