Is it much harder to get a job in Aus without Degree?

I'm thinking of backpacking around Aus/NZ for a while. Is it possible to get a job without having a Degree? Is it a huge disadvantage? You would find bar work, but I guess you wouldn't get office/bank work or anything, right?

you will find it hard to get a well paying job from my experience, you'll be competing with lots of other backpackers who have degrees and work experience so i wouldn't expect to get anything to good. don't mean to be negative but my first time here i had a finance degree and 9 months working experience and i couldn't get anything paying more than $20 an hour. ended up on the building sites where the money can be very good if you can't get anything else. dress up your cv, everyone else here does it and just be confident when going to recruitment agencies. check all the backpacker magazines (in all hostels) for more info on where ever you are

of course you can get good jobs without a degree

the problem is that you are a backpacker, why would a bank/office employ you if you would turn up hungover a few mornings and leave when the summer ends (not you but as a generalisation to backpackers)

If you have experience as a bar staff you can get well paid, but if you don't expect a very average wage
