Hard Drive not accessible

I plugged in a USB Hard drive into my PC the other day and for some reason it replaced the 500 GB drive and now I cannot access it (500 GB). I have scanned with Easy Recovery and all is there. Is there any way I can repair the drive without having go though the whole process of transferring all the stuff to a new drive? Any help would be great.

    Control Panel>Admin tools>Comp Mgt>Disk Mgt.

From there you can assign drive letters and all that lark. Just assign it a new drive letter and it may pop back up. If not, post again and i'll have another look.
