The Holiday & Christmas Do-Over

Just wanted to comment on two of Sky Movies latest offerings. The Holiday has to be the most cringe-worthingly, embarrassing sham of an excuse for a moving picture I have ever seen. It has single handedly destroyed any respect I had for Jude Law and I no longer find Cameron Diaz attractive. Jesus its bad. Its so bad I would rather set my testicles on fire and cut off my nipples with a scissors, than watch it again.

I only watched the first half of 'Christmas Do-Over' before switching channels. Just as the main character in the film is inflicted with a sense of deja vu as he has to relive Christmas over and over again until he does the right thing, I too, the viewer, had a strange sense of deja vu watching the story unfold. haven't we seen this film before...?

    Synopsis:
This ABC holiday family feature stars Jay Mohr as a divorced guy just trying to get through Christmas. He intends to keep things simple by picking up a gift for his son in the morning, then dropping it off at his ex-wife's house and leaving before any drama results, but soon Kevin realizes this won't be possible when he starts reliving the same day over and over! He's hardly filled with holiday spirit to begin with, but Kevin may be forced to rethink the meaning of Christmas, after all.

    Shameless.

I endured around 5 minutes of that travesty before turning the DVD off and venturing out into the real world. A truly horrible piece of cinema fluff.

I've had Christmas Do-Over in my to watch pile for awhile now. It's part of my Christmas viewing session. Was hoping that it would be an enjoyably dark comedy, like Mohr's series Action or Scrooged. Guess I'll have to watch Bob Clarke's Black Christmas instead.
