    hi flipsat

there is a great indian restaurant called "cafe goa" http://www.cafegoa.ie/, its on the quay in waterford city, just near ulster bank.. Very nice quality food and spicy aswell. A lot of irish go there and the owner makes u feel very welcome indeed.

Tuk Tuk Thai is a chinese restaurant located in canada street near the tower hotel... now I have not been there myself but I have been told it is very good aswell..

thats all I can think of :)

If you want italian, you're all going to the wrong place - Harlequins, off patrick street is your only man. Coming from someone who's travelled the continent a fair bit, this is proper good food!

I hadn't even noticed cafe goa. Hubby and I were only commenting while watching Gordon Ramsay sorting out an Indian restaurant in the UK the other night that we'd love a proper curry so now we know where to go.

EastEnders on the quay is another Indian restaurant (they also do takeaways and deliver). Can't remember the name of the one on High Street (behind the old An Post sorting office), but they also do takeaways/deliveries.

This restaurant has absolutely gorgeous food. I went there last week out of curiosity. It has been refurbished. Everything about it was lovely. The place itself is modern and fresh. The Indian music in the background was so relaxing. The staff are friendly and very efficient. I had Chicken Passanda which was fab. It also does european food which was handy for my friend that will only eat steak. I am going back there on July 25th with a few friends. They open for lunch which I still have to check out. They have a website called: www.eastendersrestaurant.net.:):):):):):):D

    Agreed...

They also have a sister place called La Taverna, which is down near River Island. It's also superb, and they do real Italian food the way you'd get it in Italy.

Great lads for a chat too, when they're not too busy. Just ask them about how the food is prepared, that kind of thing, and they'll enthusiastically tell you all about it.

    dont bother going to emilianos,rubbish
also tuk tuk thai, its not called that anymore, its something else ,but if its the same place with different name, don t bother going, portions are tiny for what youd be paying for them.

La Taverna is the only place to bother with for Italian food (well, the same crowd as Harlequin). Great atmosphere and super friendly service. Not to mention, the dishes are well priced and absolutely delicious.

I never liked Tuk Tuk and gave all that type of food a miss for a number of years, until I tried, on recommendation, Sabai recently and found it to be very good food, would deffo go back but first and foremost for non european food has to be GOA. Italian would be La Palma or Emilianos, Chinese, I gave it all up. Good to see some competition with all of them now.

Sabai is goooooooorgeous!! If you like thai and vietnamese food, you really wont be disappointed. We go there for all family occasions because the service and standard is always top notch. Went there for an early bird 2 weeks ago on a friday evenin, €25 for 3 courses and you've plenty of choice..you know the way some early bird menus are really basic? this has some of their best stuff in there. i think theres a website to check out.
