I was left with big bruises for a week last time I went. But wasn't too painful they just looked ugly. Also got hit in the mouth part of the mask. The paint has a really disgusting taste!

I would have said the neck as the worst place to get hit but last time I went paintballing I got shot in the ball bag.

It was the most painfull thing I have felt in a long time. I could not walk back to the safe zone, I was on my knees for a few minutes. It hurt to walk for the rest of the day and I was very tender in that area for a week or two after.

Next time I go paintballing I'm bringing a cup or a few extra socks.

But it can be sore, I have got home a few times with dried in streams of blood on my back and chest.

I'd bring a full change of clothes even if the weather is good or bad as you can end up in small rivers or ponds depending where you go.

    - Long Sleeve t-shirt
    - Wear baggy clothes (if they give you combats/DPM ask for a size larger than
you are as the baggy clothing will absorb/cushion the paintballs
    - Scarf/shemagh for neck and head
    - baseball cap; wear backwards
    - gloves
    - boots
    - cup

Heard about this lad that got shot in the sack by a paintball and had to get one of his balls removed because he didn't go to the doctor to get checked out or something.... Boston knows the full story

Bring a towel for a shower
Don't use a hoodie, just a scarf for your neck. Hoodies trap warm moist air and speed up the fogging on cheap rental mask.
boots is best up there, although the place is not that wet at the moment.
    gloves to protect your hands
i don't bother with a cup or any of that craic, never shot in the balls in 5 years..... yet.

You will have fun up there. All the markers were changed about 4 weeks ago so they are in great nick. Fresh batch of paint in also so they should fly straight woung, wind depending.

i doesnt hurt that much. the adrenilin from marking your mates should keep you going:D. but at the end you will want alot of water to rehidrate if your wearing all the gear

My main advice would be not to wear the padding they give you it just leaves you gasping for breath after running 2 feet.

yeah i over dressed for it expecting it to be worse than it really is., to be honest i would wear a T shirt if i was doing it again, at least you could run then.,lol

Guy was shot resulting in 'twisted balls' or what ever the term is. The result being that blood flow is restricted to one or both, and if its left go untreated drastic consequences ensue. This happened to a lad I went to secondary school with, where one of them was removed. Still managed to knock his girlfriend/random bird up at age 18.
