As per the thread title - what's the PS3 like as a web browser? Can it open sites with applets, flash etc.?

So you install UBUNTU, then boot into that instead of the PS3 OS, to surf the net?

Does the fact that the limited ram (compared to a PC) throttle it?

It works but is a pain when using a joypad.

Youtube will work on the PS3 browser too btw.

I thought the browser was awful - slow and difficult to use.

But then I only tried it for a short time, I've no real need to use it since I have my laptop whenever I need it.

Youtube works fine. I found navigation to be fine with the joypad, and I loved the tab interface. It can be a bit slow to render pages, and text input isn't as fluid as a keyboard, but it's definitely very usable.

You can also plug in a USB keyboard and mouse if you like.

Not half as good as a pc, but still handy when you want to check out a few pages in bed!

It's faster than it used to be. They've improved it a lot in the last couple of firmware updates, so if you haven't tried in a while it might be worth looking at it again.

Of course, I only ever use it if there's something wrong with my PC or whatever..

Its alright, most stuff works fine on it, get the odd problem with CSS. It is annoyingly slow though.

And yeah handy for using in bed ;)

I haven't got one Im just saying if the PS3 browser doesn't support flash 7 or whatever Ubuntu or YDL would if you installed it.

EDIT: Hang on a sec, were you asking me a question or sarcastically mocking me? dam the internet

I'm not being sarcastic at all!

I wasn't being sarcastic. Trust me....
