Stocks and Shares forum

With the amount of discussion about stocks and investing in this forum, I think a separate forum for discussing individual stocks could be quite useful. Each thread in the forum could be on a particular stock, and we could debating the merits of the company, pool resources and share advice, news updates and any tips we might have.

People already discuss individual stocks here, so this new "stocks and shares" forum could prove a useful place to house all those discussions (and would in turn encourage many more discussions about individual stocks which I think aren't being created because they currently seem a bit out of place) and this existing forum could continue to host broader and more general economic and investment related discussions.

I know I for one would be a regular user and contributor of this forum, were it to be created!

What does anyone else think? Would you see yourself getting use out of this too? I've suggested it officially so if you'd like to support it please click http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055202745 and leave a comment with your thumbs up!

If it does get the green light, what people like to see in the forum? I know it's pretty bog standard, one ticker = one thread, but one thought I had was that we could use the thread rating to rate the stock (á la CAPS)

Let me know what you think!

Not a bad idea, but I'm very open to allowing that in this forum too. My thinking is that markets discussion doesn't have to be general and I'm quite happy to keep get involved in discussions on individual stocks. So now we wait till someone starts one...

AMGN might be near a bottom and about to head north a bit, but further analysis is required to determine the approximate levels that it will meet S&R at, as it starts its meandering journey !

Good idea and even better if they exclude all that fluff talk on what to do with or where to save my € 500 etc
