Who uses a G Major?

I know someone on here has a G Major and I would like to know if they are worth the price. I mean, there are many modulating effects in it and the units can be got for around €300. This seems cheap compared to purchasing the effects separately. T.C electronics are known for high quality goods but I just want to make sure the G major isn't a cheap offering.

The G-majors have great sound quality for the money. There's very few rack multi-fx that can compete in that respect, I can't think of anything that's close without spending a good few quid more.

Build quality isnt as high as the sound quality, the knobs have a tendency to fall off, and to spin around doing nothing when you're trying to adjust parameters. Once you get a patch setup and saved, it's grand, you don't need to go near the knobs anymore, but while you're tweaking, it can be pretty annoying.

They're good units, I'd recommend them, and they cost a lot more than e300 when they came out originally.

They can be gotten for a lot less than €300, in fact I got mine practically mint for €200. As has been said before the sound quality on these things is great for the price, and unlike others I have had no problem with the parameter knobs.

I did however have a problem of the unit freezing, sometimes not being able to boot up properly for days. I took it completly apart and found a lot of glue in the connector of one of the ribbon cables attached to the PCB board. I cleared it all out and it has been running perfecly for the last few months without any trouble :)

Even though I had problems with mine I would still recommend them 100%. Even the tuner on it is excellent.

A nice feature on it I didnt know about prior to buying it is that you can use it to change your amp channels. This coupled with a midi floorboard and a midi looper is truly something to behold! With a single press on my midi floorboard I can go from the clean channel of my amp with no effects to the distortion channel of my amp with a delay/reverb from the g-major and my Tubescreamer/ISP decimator routed into the signal chain!! It is the coolest thing ive ever seen (musical gear wise) :D

Second hand Rocktron Replifex or Intellifex FTW.

Everywhere I go, I hear of someone who has had a G Major break on them..
