PS3 dedicated servers?

    Hi people,im considering purchasing a PS3 soon and have been looking into the titles available.
    I play multiplayer more than anything else on pc and would love to have easy to join multiplayer games on a PS3.
    Ive been reading and viewing reviews about warhawk and how fun it is as a multiplayer title but nowhere does it mention if the game has dedicated servers?

    Also while im at it ,a few other titles im considering purely for multiplayer are COD4 and Orange box for team fortress2.

    Again do these titles have dedicated servers running?

    I like to look of a few PS3 games but would also like some ease of access to multiplayer sessions on the console hence why i made this thread.

    warhawk does indeed have dedicated servers, rather novel ones at that. They are actually ps3's http://blog.us.playstation.com/2007/08/08/behind-the-curtain-the-warhawk-servers/

    COD4's multiplayer is awkward at the best of times, non existant at the worst of times. A patch is apparently in the works but has not been released yet. They took alot of heat for it but honestly don't seem to be doing anything about it.

    I'm fairly sure Unreal Tournament 3 lets you set up your own dedicated server on your PC also for PS3 Multiplayer online. So I'd say there's probably some dedicated online servers for this one too.

    A patch won't fix your internet connection. The online mode works great once you sort out your routers ports. Theres nothing the game developers can do about that.

    what ports do ya need to configure on the router? my cod works ok some times, would the port sorting help this?

    Nothing wrong with my internet connection, my ports are set correctly - you told me how to do it, remember? The patch addresses the long waiting times and rank reset issues.

    I wanted to give you a heads up on the PS3 Connectivity patch for the PS3 version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. This is the patch that will improve matchmaking, connectivity, and optimized performance for you guys when playing online.

    The PS3 Connectivity patch will be hitting in the very near future. The PS3 (exclusive) Connectivity patch will include:

    US Data Center For NAT Server
    Will make all US players connect to US data center and EU users connect to EU data center. This will optimize performance for all users in those areas.

    Fixed 'Downloading Game Settings' Error
    Fixed error with conflicting packet interaction.

    Port 3095 Issue Corrected
    Players were required to have port 3095 open in order to host. Now players who have port 3095 blocked can still host matches.

    Matchmaking Optimization
    Server search will end upon acquiring a certain number of good servers. Added "prefer" servers with best ping, this will optimize and expedite players finding and joining good matches.
