Check out this thread for some more insight.

General consensus seems to be that they are not very good! I wouldn't think you will have it in time for christmas anyway thats for sure.

Yeah I noticed that thread after id purchased. I had resigned myself to not getting it before xmas. It seems that a lot of people dealing with dabs, komplett etc have similar issues. So its grin and bear it I suppose.

I have only ordered once from Dabs, some components for a PC build, a few months ago. To be fair, not only did they deliver in 4 days, but I wasn't plagued for photographic ID's and retina scans! I must've been lucky.

I was invoiced for goods on the 18th Dec from Dabs.ie, and they has not been delivered as at 24th Dec. Ordered on the basis that delivery would take place before Christmas.

Me too. I placed an order on the 15th and it still hasn't arrived (wasn't necessary for xmas though). You can claim €35 free credit from them now as they did not get it delivered within their guaranteed time.

Thanks for letting me know about the voucher thing. I ordered on the 17th and my stuff still hasn't arrived.

Oh well 35 euro should ease the pain a little...

Progress Report.--- I received an email from Dabs yesterday, who confirmed that the parcel was dispatched on the 19/12/07 they gave me a parcel number so I could track the delivery progress on-line. It seems that the parcel was sent through "parcelforce" who delivered it to Ireland on the 20th, it was then passed to their Irish Agents (probably I suspect An Post) and it has not arrived YET.
    Track & Trace

    Parcel tracking details

Progress of the parcel you've enquired about is displayed below.

Also very likely to be GLS, which would also account for the missing parcel as they have a very poor reputation.

I have no idea who the delivery agent here in Ireland is, but Dabs.ie also gave me a number for parcelforce in the U.K, whom I will telephone on Monday and find out who the delivery agent here in Ireland is, when I will then advise the group. In fairness to Dabs they got back to me with as much particulars as possible, and dispatched the order in reasonable time. I wonder does have any experience of getting stuff from the U.S Goods supposed to have been dispatched to me on the 9/12/07 have not arrived yet. The mail-order people "Actiongps" do not even respond to my emails.

My tracking details seem to be the same as yours jmd. It's been in Ireland since the 21st but no delivery was attempted any day before xmas or the 2 days after St Stephens day. If it is GLS who handles delivery I won't be expecting it until the New Year as they are probably not even working until then

My order was made on the 4th of December, if you can believe thatblank.gif. Merry Christmas dabs!!!!!!
Dabs emailed me saying my order was posted on friday 14th yet it takes till tuesday 18th to show up on Parcel Farce tracking.

They deallocated stock that was allocated to my order during their bullcr*p security check (address unknown), which further pushed back my order as they then ran out of stock!!!!!

Dabs are an utter sham and i strongly warn against anyone using them, I've put in my €35 claim but don't even want it, I will never use this pathetic excuse of a company again.

    peace

Just out of interest, has anyone heard anything back about the €35 claim yet? I got no confirmation of it yet. Looks like our orders all came into the country on the same batch. Who knows where they are now.

But ordering on 4th Dec and still not receiving the goods, that really sucks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9 DevilMayCry

I haven't heard back from dabs re the €35 claim but I suspect their inbox is overflowing with grief and claims could take a while considering their customer services consist of [probably] just one person.

If my order is not here by friday I will fly over to Bolton and give their management my best Genghis Khan impression
    complete with authentic weaponry.

    I hope this helps

I ordered from another company on Dec 10th and the parcel went though Parcelforce and on to GLS who have also LOST my parcel. I think GLS seem to be causing many of the problems. They were closed all over Christmas but re-open today. If you ring the Royal mail they will give to the GLS tracking number, which is different to the original royal mail tracking no.

GLS are contactable on: http://www.gls-ireland.com/en/home/index.html or by phone on: 01-866200

Just to add, use this link for the GLS tracking: http://www.gls-group.eu/276-I-PORTAL-WEB/content/GLS/IE01/EN/5004.htm as the info here seems more complete.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 541 ✭✭✭Vorrtexx

I got my GLS tracking number from Parcelforce the other day and the status hadn't changed on it since it arrived back on the 20th. However it's been updated today so I guess it's not lost....yet.

Thanks for the tracking link bottletops, It certainly shows more detail and I know what depot it's at now.

You can use your Parcelforce tracking number on the webpage link bottletops provided too, so it may give you more info of where it is and if it's out for delivery

I had to make that claim for undelivered christmas presdent unfortunately. I followed the details on the page on their website, included my order number, name and contact number but then got an email back asking me to follow the instructions on the same page again. Anyways, i just forwarded on the same email again. Hope everything works out fine.

Seems a lot of people have been badly let down by GLS, they only started back at work today - my parcel arrived in Dublin on the 21st Dec and arrived in Annacotty for delivery today (only 40 miles away) - status shows out for delivery at 12:50pm but I got a response at 18:11 today to my email sent on the 27th asking when it would be delivered
Apologies for the delay replying to your email but this is our first working day after Christmas.
Your parcel was due for delivery today but unfortunately the driver did not have enough room in the van so it will receive priority tomorrow,
    Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

My Parcel arrived 2/01/2008. Didn't take delivery myself - so I have no way of knowing who delivered it, as the packet bears no reference to anybody other than parcelforce, and the label states delivered to Dublin on 20/12/2007. No, I have heard nothing from Parcelforce regarding my claim for the 35--euro voucher. One can understand a Christmas rush, but why claim to deliver pre-xmas when they should know that they havent got a hope in hell of doing so.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,133 ✭✭✭✭GBX

Got mine today too. parcelforce said the box. Didnt sign myself. No idea who brought it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9 DevilMayCry

Got mine around 6pm yesterday (wednesday 2nd), GLS delivered, bloke said it was his first day on the job, had obviously been getting grief that day.

Just thought i'd give you folks an example of an order i have with overclockers.co.uk who also use parcelforce, but this being post the Christmas rush. I haven't actually got my package yet, but the following looks promising taking into account the weekend.

can anyone find a contact email for dabs?

They kinda screwed me over on the Christmas Delivery Guarantee.

I followed the links on their website and email the correct address (xmasdelivery@dabs.ie) witht he correct format that they laid out on their page.

A few days later I recieved an email saying that I should send the claim to the xmasdelivery@dabs.ie which I had already done, and which my sent message in gmail can verify, but just incase, I copied and pasted the email address in the email and sent it off again.

Just now, I received the same email again saying that I should have made the claim before the 4th Jan and have sent it to xmasdelivery@dabs.ie. So they're obviously fecking idiots or are trying to screw me out of the €35 euro they said they'd pay if they missed the Christmas deadline.

They should'nt've made the promise if they weren't willing to back it up. So i'm gonna get onto customer service if I can find the e-mail address. There just seems to be a chat submission thing on their website.

I sent my claims (i had two orders not delivered by them) on the 28th of december and have not heard back at all from dabs.ie, it looks like it is just a con.

I know my email reached them because if it didn't i would get a delivery failure from my ISP.

But what can u do? They are based in the UK and outside our small claims court reach. My guess is dabs.ie couldn't care less.

Did anyone receive their 35€ voucher?

not to rub it in but i ordered from komplett.ie just before christmas, they dispatched on the 17th and I got it on the morning of the 20th, they didnt use parcelforce though who are unbearable!!!

last wednesday i was forced to order from dabs (needed a cheap big monitor, got a 20" LCD for €140) despite vowing never to do so again after a two day delay thanks to bizzare security hoops they wanted me to jump through!

it took until late friday (after 5pm) for them to ship which is unacceptable since that even though i ordered on wednesday the shipping company probably havent received it until today! it is now monday and i'm still waiting for my tracking number to be recognised by parcelforce!!!

i wish komplett were as cheap for some thing cause i hate this crap!!!!

Yeah we are in a unfortunate position in Ireland. At the moment with the sterling/Euro exchange rate shopping on Uk online stores is as cheap as chips.

I use Dabs a lot, Find them ok, usually about 5 working days. I ordered stuff friday 11th and recieved friday 18th.

I also use SVP.co.uk an awfull lot. They are fantastic company. Order before lunch, items usually dispatched same day and in my hands 2 days. Only time it hasnt worked was before christmas, But not holding that against them.

Absolute joke, I thought I could get by this waiting for your email uselessness by going paypal but no its same. I'm still waiting for it to change after being assured it would happen "ASAP" .... If its not changed by the morning I'm cancelling and thats them out of a load of future orders, their loss more than mine. It makes me so mad, they have my money but its just not being processed. I wonder what their complaints to orders ratio is.

Whatever you save by shopping at dabs.ie doesn't matter, they clearly saved on staffing making not worth it whatsoever.

My advice is stay well away!

Anyone have a phone number for them?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16 jmd

I have not dealt with them since Christmas, and am not lightly to deal with them in the future. Needless to say I have not got the voucher. I have dealt with both Memory C (in Celbridge), and Elara (in Dublin) since, and found both wonderful to deal with, and you can collect by prior arrangement..

    Hi,

I am trying to improve 3 things on dabs.ie and dabs4work.ie:

    1. Credit and security turn-around time
    2. Delivery issues
    3. Customer Service

    1. Historically there has been stringent security checking on dabs and this has forced orders to be manually checked.

The speed and accuracy of these checks is improving, we have introduced a faster turn-around service. Since mid-March credit vetting has improved and we will reply to all requests within 2 days.
If you have not received a prompt response please post here and I will escalate it. Alternatively please contact csmanager@dabs.com.

    2. Today orders are either sent via Royal Mail or Parcelforce from the UK. Once they arrive in Ireland An Post, or GLS will deliver.
Should you have any issues with delivery, please contact:

GLS: http://www.gls-ireland.com/en/home/index.html or by phone on: 01-866200

    GLS tracking: http://www.gls-group.eu/276-I-PORTAL-WEB/content/GLS/IE01/EN/5004.htm

We are also actively seeking new delivery partners to improve this service.

    3. Customer Service

As with Credit checking we have improved customer service via our web-chat and hope to introduce a direct service number for our dabs4work.ie sites.
Again, please post here if you are not receiving good service and I will action it, or contact csmanager@dabs.com.

    Best wishes,

    Larry,

how long should a package be in WDM online before its dispatched?

I am extremely annoyed with Dabs at this moment. I placed an order on a Thursday evening (26th June). I got an email from them the next day verifying my address, which I replied to at lunchtime. I checked the status of my order that evening to discover they were still awaiting a response from my email. I 'chatted' to the chat section to discover accounts was closed for the weekend. I checked back on the status of my account on Monday lunchtime to see that they were sill waiting on a response to their email. I had to 'chat' again to someone who obviously contacted accounts and next thing is, my order was processed. I still hadn't received my package Friday morning so had a long 'chat' and established that it may be delivered the following day. I arrived home unexpectedly at 13.55 Friday to find the package SITTING ON MY DOORSTEP!!!! I can't believe that goods would just be left on someones doorstep. I have tried to complain to dabs but am not getting anywhere. I will be taking matters further....

My advice is, avoid dabs at all costs for lack of communication, lack of customer service, lack of response to queries....

I arrived home unexpectedly at 13.55 Friday to find the package SITTING ON MY DOORSTEP!!!!

Who signed for it? Presumably since it was left on the doorstep, nobody did. What's now to stop you from claiming you never received it, as it's altogether possible that someone could have stolen it from outside your house? Dabs are indeed to be avoided, until they offer a low-budget alternative to GLS.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3 unbelievable

It was signed for in my name even though no-one was at home and it most definitely was not received by anyone, just dumped on the doorstep. I could very easily have said that I never received the package and forced dabs to re-send it, but I wonder how long it would take to get a replacement even if it did so happen that the package was stolen.:mad::mad:

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,713 ✭✭✭✭jor el

Request a copy of the signature, if you haven't already seen it, then tell them that's not your signature. Not sure exactly if you can do anything about someone forging your signature, it might be considered fraud. Put it all in a strongly worded written and formal complaint to Dabs about their delivery agent.
