    Hey everyone,
I recently moved up to Dublin, new job and all that, and just wondering can anyone recommend a good judo club to join? Living on southside of the city so somewhere around that general area would be handy.

    Thanks :)

Take your pick ;) Haven't trained in any of them myself so I couldn't give you an honest evaluation of where to pick. A few of the lads on here train judo in dublin though, so they should be able to help you.

There are a number of judo clubs in Dublin, however, the majority are found in the suburbs on the north county.

    Lusk Judo Kan
Portmarnock Judo club, Portmarnock Sports and Leisure Centre
Coolmine Judo Club, Coolmine Sports Centre
UCD Judo Club, UCD Sports centre, Belfield (usually students only, ask though).
Daigokan Judo Club, Donnycarney Parish Centre, Donnycarney, Dublin 5

Your best bet would be to contact the UCD judo club some how, their website seems out of date. I can't remember what times they start training at, I think they're 8-10 on Tuesday and Thursdays.

the Daigokan is close to Killester Dart station too and they train on Thursday as well, not sure of the time.

Alternatively you could give Brasilian Jiujitsu a go, which is similar to Judo in many ways. There is a club in Baldoyle called http://www.sbgnorthside.com that you can walk to from Howth Junction, time table is on the website.
