I have a Fuji Finepix 6900z and I'd like to take some long exposure shots with it.
Unfortunately, the max exposure setting is 3 seconds..I'd like to have shots of a coupla minutes or more.

I can't for the life of me see how I might achieve this "normally" so I thought I'd ask here..is it possible to change the software on the camera to allow longer exposures than 3 seconds through flashing or other techniques? How would I go about that/find more info on it?

Maybe this isn't really done conventionally and so this is just a stupid question but I hope someone can help me!

    Thanks.

Apart from rewriting your cameras firmware, why not take multiple exposures and stack them in software. If I remember remember correctly thats the way most of the digital astro photos are made.

I used to have a Fuji 602z camera. I think the longest exposure was 3 seconds on aperture priotity mode, but in manual you could bring it to 30 seconds I think. The same went for fast shutter speeds, it was 1/1000th second on aperture priority but on mnaual mode you could make it as fast as 1/10,000th second.
