Dilema, left handed guitars?

Ok I have this problem of being right handed but I am naturally inclined to play guitar left handed. I don't know why so don't ask. I have tried to play right handed but it really doesnt feel comfortable. Should I continue trying to play right handed because r.h guitars are more readily availible & cheaper? Or should I stick with left handed? On that note does anyone know where It is possible to find reasonably priced l.h acoustic guitars in the Mid West Region? And Dont tell me to buy a right handed guitar and change the strings around because I know it can lead to problems!

Bought a lefty starter Cort acoustic yesterday at FSV on William St. Limerick.

Sounds pretty good to me and feels ok to handle (remember I'm a novice when reading my comments).

I also tried a couple of lefties in Steamboat Quay music shop - there was a particularly nice Washburn acoustic.

Also a friend recommended Crowleys, MacCurtain St Cork for lefties. I rang them and they have leftie Tanglewoods in stock.

    Hope this helps.

get a right handed one and turn it upside down - its an old trick that has been in use for generations :p obviously it doesnt really work aswell witha cutaway

OP, how do you intend playing guitar? what style? Do you want to strum everything (nothing wrong with that) or use your fingers to pick? what may seem easier at first (as the right hand has more dexterity to fret the notes) may be of no advantage should you wish to fingerpick.

If you want to strum everything and it feels more comfortable to fret with your right hand then go for what feels comfortable. if however you have designs on fingerpicking/fingerstyle then think carefully and maybe stick with the rightie.

This is coming from me as a new guitar player. I started earlier this year and play mostly strumming but recently i took a liking to fingerstyle which requires much more from the right hand than before and now I think I see why right handed people are 'supposed' to play guitar by fretting with their left hand, if that makes any sense!

    Thanks for the advice!

I might just stick with leftie, I dont think dexterity for fingerpicking would be much of a problem for me because I play piano too so I'm used to using my left hand.
