I was wondering do you need to be online to add music to your ipod/sony mp3 player?
Even if it is off cd's?

no. you may need online access to download the software - itunes etc - but the actual action of taking songs off cd's and putting them onto the mp3 player it's a no.

er, it can be done, the full version of winamp will rip cd's then you can add them to the ipod,

there is a program called podshare which allows you to drag and drop files from any pc to your ipod and vise versa.

Also, i think you can simply use windows media player to rip a cd to mp3 format(its in options) into your library, then use the free version of winamp to put it onto your ipod

...you do have to go online to get all these programmes though :P but that is the only time you _have_ to go online.

With the newer sony DAPs (The A81x and S61x) you do not need any additional software at all to add music to the DAP... I like this option best...

Or you could simply use iTunes.
