Trouble with canon eos350 ?

    Hi

    I have a Canon eos 350 It had to go back to the repair shop just recently becouse ERROR 99 kept popping up and freezing the camera. Since it has come back I think that the images are blurred on the Right hand side. I have cleaned the lens (it came with the camera 18-55) and tried to mess with the auto focus to no avail.

    Am I doing something wrong or has the lens got a problem?

    First things first see about getting/borowing/renting another lens to test the body. Did the lens go back with the body for repairs?

    Yes the lens went back with the camera. I felt at the time that the lens was to fault. I have a (really bad) Canon telephoto lens that never got the ERROR 99 code up. The people servicing it at Canon could find nothing wrong with the lens.

    I will try to get another one to see if that makes ant difference.

    I guess that since the 18-55 is an el cheapo lens with poor build quality it's the cause of softness. See about getting a 50mm f1.8. Buy one even, everyone should have this lens. Its also a cheap plastic lens but its wonderfully sharp and fast.
