.avi videos in WMP on Vista

    I transfered a few videos i had on my old comp onto my new laptop and they are in .avi format.

    When I try to play them in WMP I can hear sound but no picture

    Anyone know why that is??

    Anyone else had that problem??

    Sounds like you don't have the neccessary codecs installed on the new pc.
    Google for the k-lite codec pack

    You don't have the right Codecs by the sound of it.

    Download from HERE. Just choose a mirror to download from and install it. Should solve your problems.

    or download and install vlc media player .... has nearly all codecs as standard, no need to worry about getting right codec for your media files
