copying maps from one sat nav to another

    hi all i have a garmin 250 with version 9 mapping i bought a 200 for my da for xmass in halfords and it has the 2008 maps on it.

    is there any way i can copy the new maps to mine??

    maybe using the sd card???

    my 250 isnt registered so i know i could wait and get it but would like to try this way first.
