    Hi Folks,
I'm wondering what's the best way to get from Bergamo airport to Livigno. I know from reading on here that it's a long transfer. For peace and plain comfort we (4 of us) were going to order a taxi. This works out at €70ish each one way. Expensive but probably the quickest.
From others experience what would you recommend ??? Bus all the way? Train then bus/taxi? Taxi all the way? Renting a car is not really an option for us. I know it's probably down to money but the bus trip seems quite long and I'd imagine a taxi will be a lot quicker..

You could probably get a car for a week for less than 280 (the price of the taxi one way). Pick it up on way out drop it back on way back. The bus takes forever and stops half way for an hour.

    Edit
Open Astra Station Wagon with room for 5 - 292 Euro for 7 days starting tomorrow.

I don't think there is a quick and easy cheap way to do that transfer. The bus has to stop cus the journey is so long. The options are basically the direct bus, or a train from the airport to the city centre and then a train to Tirano (NOT Turino!!!) from where a bus leaves about 20 minutes later, but that is a bit of a trek too cus it involves changing trains/buses twice and may not actually be any quicker.

You say renting a car isn't really an option for you but it probably would be the best thing if there were any way you could rent and your priority is getting there comfortably rather than cheaply.

Hey guys, sorry for dragging this thread up but I had a couple of questions you might be able to help me with!

Theres 9 of us heading to Livigno on Sat the 12th Jan. We didnt book a package so we have to make our own way there from the airport. Ive been doing loads of research and I know theres some direct buses from the airport (Linate) but unfortunately the Aer Lingus flights we're on will be in too late to catch them. Also some of us will already be in Italy and travelling from Verona rather than Milan (just to add to the complications, ha!)

Anyway seems the only option for us is to train it from Milan Centrale to Tirano (those coming directly from the airport will have to get to the train by 12.05 or theres no other way of getting public transport there apparently), then bus from there to Livigno. The only two companies we've found are Bus Perego ( http://www.busperego.com/ ) and this site that is called Mountain Tours Ltd ( http://www.mountain-toursltd.com/aaenglish/transfers.htm ) .

Getting a group bus/taxi seems to be out of our price range (we're students on a budget) and we're too young to rent a car.

OK my questions are has anyone else done the public transport thing to get to Livigno, if so did you use these bus companies or did you find others? Also has anyone any suggestions otherwise?

    Happy xmas, and happy skiing/snowboarding!
    Thanks!
