    Hi,
Recently started with Blueface and I am thinking of moving my curently BT (previously eircom) number to Blueface and I understand that I need to be with eircom at the time of porting.

    1. How long do I have to be with eircom before porting request. Blueface says 1st bill but will eircom not lock me into some contract for 1 year or ? (pay penalty?)

    2. At the moment I am on PAYG with Blueface, If I port my number can I stay on PAYG?

    3. If I want to port my number eventualy from Blueface - will I be able to do it? (via eircom again)?

You must really love your "BT (previously eircom) number" to be willing to comply with all this ComReg/eircom mafia bureaucracy!

Numbering should be taken out of eircom's hands. You should be able to log into a secure website and port your number from one carrier to another, on a self-service basis. In virtually every other product or service, one can change from one supplier to another at the drop of a hat. No 12 month minimum contracts. No service set-up charges. No penalty fees for moving to a competitor.

The Irish telecommunications market is a racket.

I ported and I think it was worth it. Despite other helpful posts, I like my number and wanted to keep it, it was difficult though.

    1. Go back to Eircom, they can't make you stay with them if you want to cancel your landline. Blueface helped me out on the advice a lot, I was one of their first ports and had a lot of problems but was resolved with a lot of help from Aaron.

    2. I think you need to go subscription to keep your number. That used to be the case anyway. I think for 9.99 p/m it is worth it.

    3. I don't know, I wonder this myself.
