Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Russian navy battle group to sail down west coast

Take a look at this from the Fighter Control website:

Have been following a thread on another forum and Admiral Kutznetsov and her battle group sailed from Northern Russia last week on exercises west of Norway. The carrier and her escorts are now in the Northern North Sea in amongst the Oil/Gas rigs according to the oil rig workers (who took photos of the carrier extremely close to one rig, having no regard to safety of the helicopter flights to and from the rigs of which have been suspended due to the carrier continually flying jets when close to the rigs.

The Carrier group will be moving across the north of Scotland and then down the west coast of Eire this week/weekend and then through the Gibraltar straights into the Med Sea for further exercises.

The GAAW must be pleading ignorance, funny that, they were always in the know when it came to Salthill airshow. But then, they are not American or British, different rules apply. This is quite a formidable force by anyones standard including the nuclear powered battle cruiser Pyotr Veliky.

    Take a look www.fightercontrol.co.uk

Good for them. The Russian navy has been in need of a boost ever since the Kursk incident.

'Don't worry the GAAW will withdraw the permanent protest against atrocities in Chechnya from outside the Russian embassy and all board the Aran Island ferry to intercept the Russian Navy.'

Hah! As if. The Russians are far dangerous to annoy with protests. The GAAW are not noted for their bravery in the face of............. anything really. Besides the double A in the name really means Anti American.

    As Richard Boyd Barrett admitted recently, the Anti-war movement isn't actually anti-war but anti-imperialist. i.e. anti-American, anti-British and anti-Israeli.

At least he admits the truth. The trouble with most of the anti crowd is that they don't even realise it themselves. The truth is that they are for the most part neo-communist with an anti-democratic agenda.

If the Salthill airshow only featured Russian aircraft, you wouldn't hear a peep out of them.

I think the Russia Chechnya conlfict could be considered imperlialist, but atleast there not using Ireland to attack Chechnya

They obviously went to great lenghts to seach national media and websites for any signs of anything that they could use in their, so called moral cause. You only had to look at the remarks from them in the local press. If they had made the same efforts on an on going basis, they would quite easily have found out about this as it has been mentioned on several sites and just as much in the public domain. Where do you think they got all the info on the pilots and aircraft and where they were stationed etc. But now they have added their bit towards closing the airshow they have probably crawled back into their lonely litle holes for the Christmas!

I wouldn't worry about it. The Russians once had the electricity cut off to a naval base in Vladivostock due to their inability to pay the bill. They had to phone the local power company to get the power switched back on as their nuclear subs were parked up and plugged into the mains. Apparently the leccy was necessary to keep the coolant circulating about the reactor and loss of same meant that an nuclear event would be inevitable.

Fishermen: We take Euros only preferably 50 euro notes. No bank transfers or cheques or Bitcoin!
